Governor Walker Signs Senate Bill 434 Into Law

On Thursday, April 14, Governor Walker signed SB 434 into law.  SB 434 addresses many changes to the Managed Forest Law and how the fees collected from closed acreage entries are distributed to the local governments.

WAFO has been working diligently on this for several years and while we are extremely pleased that this bill has been signed, there is continued work to do in the implementation of the new aspects of this law.

I would like to use 2-5 acres of our Managed Forest Land to build a house on. I need to know how much it will cost to do this. I know there is a $300 fee. Can I find out today what the cost is to take 3 acres off of the MFL? Thank you, Brenda
